An independent Apple device repair and refurbishment workshop, established in Winchester in 2014. We prioritise honest communication and careful, considered work.
Apple Shack Repair started in 2014 as a small bench repair operation run out of a single room on Jewry Street. The premise was simple: people in Winchester needed a local, independent option for Apple device repairs — one that wouldn't involve posting their device away, waiting weeks, or paying inflated service centre prices.
The early years were focused on iPhones and MacBooks, the devices most likely to need hands-on attention. As the range of Apple products grew and as customers began bringing in iPads, Apple Watches, and older devices for refurbishment, the workshop expanded to cover the full Apple product family.
We don't guess and we don't rush to a repair recommendation. Every device receives a proper diagnostic assessment before we discuss options. This protects your time and your money.
Technical faults explained clearly, without unnecessary jargon. If you ask us what's wrong with your device, you'll get a straight answer you can understand and make an informed decision from.
Extending the working life of Apple devices keeps them out of the waste stream. We take the view that a well-maintained or properly repaired device is almost always better than a premature replacement.
If a repair isn't worth doing — because the fault is too severe, the cost disproportionate, or the outcome uncertain — we'll tell you. We'd rather lose a job than recommend something we can't justify.
Apple devices are tightly engineered and benefit from careful handling. We work methodically, use appropriate tooling, and take the time the job requires rather than rushing for throughput.
As an independent Winchester business, every customer matters. We're not a franchise or a remote service — we're a local workshop with real people who take ownership of the work we do.
Daniel founded the workshop in 2014 and still leads technical work. He specialises in logic board diagnostics and complex faults across all Apple models. His approach is methodical and patient — he'd rather spend more time getting a diagnosis right than recommend an unnecessary repair.
